“Pawankhind,” a Marathi film released in 2022, is an Indian historical action drama directed by Digpal Lanjekar. Produced under the banner of Almonds Creations in collaboration with AA Films, the movie is based on the life of the Maratha warrior Baji Prabhu Deshpande. The cast includes Chinmay Mandlekar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Ajay Purkar, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Ankit Mohan, Prajakta Mali, and Kshitee Jog in supporting roles.

As the third installment in an eight-film series on the Maratha Empire, following “Farzand” and “Fatteshikast,” Digpal Lanjekar announced this film to highlight unsung Maratha heroes. Subsequently, “Sher Shivraj” followed. “Pawankhind” achieved significant commercial success, grossing Rs.75 crore (US$9.4 million) and becoming the fifth highest-grossing Marathi film of all time, as well as the second highest-grossing Marathi film of 2022.
